I like them too. In fact, I love abandoned buildings of all kinds, as well as abandoned ships. I've found some great urban exploration sites where people sort of make a hobby of photographing abandoned buildings. I'm sort of leery about entering most of these places due to the trespassing laws here in Texas, and a reasonable concern about being shot. Do you take any special precautions or are you able to get permission?

@Twelvebit: Well, Shawna has answered your question mostly already. We are cautious and always mindful of one and another. If I can, I do ask permission but mostly the land owners are no where to be found as the small farms are swallowed up by those large farmers who farm miles and miles of land and really don't care about the old abandoned buildings that remain as there is no personal memories for them! Sad really...but I guess that is the the way of the world now! I had never thought of being shot but now I have...thanks for the heads up!
Well in Canada we don't worry about being shot so we wander in. Sharlene and I shoot together a lot. I always like to have someone with me just in case one of us gets hurt. But no one ever does besides a bruise or a scratch on barb wire, Nothing ever serious. I always kind of look in to make sure there is no wild animals such as skunks or raccoons and am always walking carefully to make sure the floor can handle my weight and always watching for nails and glass. We are always mindful not to move any thing or destroy and thing or take things. If anyone was to come along and tell us to get out I would leave peacefully and right away.
